Addison Primary is an Ofsted rated GOOD community school and is continually improving. A few highlights from the recent Ofsted report:
Progress for older children was ‘particularly strong and often outstanding’.
Inspectors noted the team spirit in Addison’s staff and ‘there is a strong, shared commitment to raising achievement which has risen steadily’
‘Behaviour was well managed’ and ‘behaviour overall was good’
‘The vast majority of responses to questionnaires were positive and most of the written comments expressed considerable satisfaction with the school.’
Addison is a dynamic, supportive and friendly environment for children, which is illustrated in its prospectusand can be seen in any school visit and even in the online blog. Addison is well known for the rapid progress of its pupils and the school also has a unique enrichment program for its gifted and talented children. Addison was also recently awarded a science grant from the Royal Society to work in partnership with scientists. This grant resulted in 60 Year 3 pupils being able to use using both the Thames and their homes to learn about water quality, biodiversity and water recycling and conservation.
Addison Primary recently earned the highly respected Values Quality Benchmark for the commitment to a values code which underpins the Addison experience. These are values shared by all: respect, cooperation, honesty, humility, tolerance, simplicity, freedom, peace, love, responsibility and happiness. Addison’s values were collaboratively developed with parents and children and reflect the very diverse community the school serves. They are obviously manifest in Addison’s community spirit!
