Support Our Schools
Support your schools by supporting them vocally!
We are adding ideas – keep checking back, or send your own! We will be adding many resources, including a forum, to this section over time.
You can contact us with some great news you’d like to spread about your school – we’ll make a page for you! Check out the one for Addison for inspiration.
If you have a child at a local school, put in a shining (and truthful!) review of your child’s school. Directory listings, such as those at Mumsnet, the Brook Green Bugle, and Shepherdsbushw12.com often have review or comments sections.
You can donate all of your children’s old books to your local school’s library.
Why not get all of your neighbours without children to save up their Tesco Vouchers for you to give to your local school?
Set yourself up with Barefoot Books – donate the profit to your school or buy something they need.
Playground gossip can be destructive, make it constructive! Take your concerns about school issues to the people in the school who can address them. They want to address them, we promise!
Volunteer. You may have a talent to share or a unique job – there are often themes on jobs and uniforms or what grownups do - go and share your talent with the children (it is really fun!)
You can also get involved in your school – join the PTA, HSA or nominate yourself to be a governor. It’s rewarding and is much appreciated.
We are in need of some key talent! Could you be that person?
We could use some help writing pages or blog entries. We need help filling out this section in particular! Maybe you can write an article about being involved in your local school? Or perhaps you are better at searching the net than writing for it – we could use your help monitoring developments that affect our local effort.
When we need specific help, we will let you know right here!
If you feel moved by this issue, please email us and we’ll get in touch with you as soon as we can. THANK YOU!
